Introduction to Our Parish School of Religion
(registration form for All Youth Programming will begin in June)
Faithful to our call to welcome all to a relationship with Jesus and His Church, Sts. Simon and Jude Parish School of Religion is designed to foster and grow the faithful discipleship of our youngest parishioners. We offer programming at every level of formation from newborn through year 18. Our program seeks to focus on the following areas:
¨ To cultivate a holy and welcoming atmosphere for young people that is open to personal encounter with Jesus
¨ To educate young people in the truths of our faith through knowledge of Scripture and the Tradition of the Church
¨ To engage young people in the worship of God through participation in the liturgical practice of the faith
¨ To inspire young people to witness to the joy of the Gospel through faithful discipleship and active service
Parents have the primary role of educating their children in the faith. This role and privilege is agreed to when each child is baptized and welcomed into God’s family, the Church. It is a responsibility that is crucial for the formation of each child. Our PSR programming seeks to nourish, support, and partner with parents in their task of educating their child/ren in the Catholic faith. Each child is a gift from God and it is a privilege to participate with you in cultivating your child’s love for Jesus and the Church.
With the combined commitment from the parents, catechists and clergy, and with the grace of the Holy Spirit, we pray that each child within our program will flourish as they deepen in their knowledge and love of Jesus and our Catholic faith.
